Not my cup of tea
by Tom
A couple of Fridays ago, I went for my Friday run around noon. I didn't foresee either of the two challenges I would face. The air show hadn't officially started, but nobody would have notices because the beach was packed with spectators (most of whom are not aware of the "code" of the bike path - that is to be aware that it is actually a bike path.) In addition to this, most people were fixated on the sky, making it difficult for them to walk straight or stay out of the way. A few close calls with bikes were not a surprise. Aside from this, the temperature was over 90 degrees and the last 3 miles of my 8 mile run were something else. It seems that summer training is not my cup of tea.

tonight's run
by kaye.
tonight was a great run on the lakefront path - 4.25 miles. i can't classify every run as great, but this one truly was.
tom and i were talking after work and we decided that 3 miles is the threshold. under 3 miles = easy, over 3 miles = a different ballgame completely.
i wore my shorts with the back pocket tonight, so i took my phone and was able to snap this shot.

long run on saturday up next. thanks for reading!

and we're off!
let the training begin (well, the training began several months ago, but...)! training in this heat is a whole new can of worms. the lakefront path has been packed the past few weeks. in fact, kaye almost run over by a insane cyclist on sunday!!
we are up to 7 miles for our long runs. each week we add a mile, so this saturday will be 8 miles. during the week we go on 3 runs, 3 or 4 miles each. all in all we are running fools!!
